Check that it is indeed a leak

Check that it is indeed a leak
An air mattress may deflate slightly 💨 after several days of use or temperature variations 🌡️, without necessarily leaking. A new mattress may seem deflated at first, without being punctured or needing repairs. When purchasing, favor robustness 💪🏻 to avoid frequent repairs. Repairing an air mattress is a simple task that you can do yourself .😇

Find the leak
To fix a leak in your air mattress, inflate it to the maximum 💨. If you can't do this, inspect it closely for a hole or crack. If you can inflate it, sit on it 🚀 (make sure your cat 🐈 isn't there) to increase the air pressure and make it easier to detect the leak. Listen 👂 for the sound of air coming out and check the part of the mattress on the floor, which is often damaged by objects lying around.

Mark the leak with a felt-tip pen or pencil 🖍️ then deflate 💨 the mattress: I advise you to repair it on a deflated mattress , to prevent the repair from moving or being done badly ⚠️.

Steps to follow
Scrape or sand
Most air mattresses are covered with a layer of fabric or velvet. Start by sanding the surface around the leak with the scraper included in your kit. If you don't have one, fine sandpaper or steel wool can also do the trick.
Clean and dry
Use a cloth dampened with soapy water to remove dust from the area to be repaired. Then, wipe the mattress with a clean, dry cloth and let it dry for about 15 minutes.
Cut out the patch
Now it's time to cut a patch the right size for your leak. This patch should be about 1.5 times the size of the leak. In all cases, make sure to leave at least 1 cm overhang on each side of the leak.
Apply the patch
In your kit, you will find either a self-adhesive patch or a patch with a tube of super glue. Apply it following the instructions provided in the leaflet of your repair kit. Be careful when applying it, because if you try to peel it off and put it back on, it could alter the properties of the glue.
Press to set the glue
Once you have your patch in place, press it firmly with the palm of your hand for 30 seconds, being careful not to let the glue stick to your fingers! You can also use a rolling pin.
Let it dry
Whether you use a self-adhesive patch or glue, your repair will need several hours to be truly effective. Place heavy, flat objects on top of the patch if you can, such as a stack of books, and let it dry for 8 to 24 hours.
Check
It's time to check not only if your repair was effective, but also if your mattress has any other leaks. Inflate it to the maximum and sit on it. If your mattress is properly sealed, your body should not sink more than 5 cm.

And if you don't have a patch, then you might have a solution that sticks 😃
